My TRT Journey Log – Age 33

Hey everyone,
The main reason I’m starting this TRT cycle is because over the past 12 months, I’ve been feeling increasingly fatigued, brain foggy, and lacking in motivation—issues that I’ve never had before. After doing some research and considering my health history, I’ve decided to give TRT a try to help optimize my physical and mental well-being.

Background & Current Situation:

- Height: 6 ft (183 cm)
- Weight: 91 kg (200 lbs)
- Training: Weightlifting 5 days a week
- Job: High-stress, time-critical, and physically demanding work (which I now believe is a big contributing factor to my low energy levels)

I’ve been lifting consistently for the past 7 years, and while my physique has definitely changed from a skinny 70 kg (154 lbs) to 91 kg with a fairly lean build, I’ve also noticed a decline in motivation and mental sharpness over time.

I’ve had my bloodwork checked regularly, and I've always had low testosterone. However, after a two-week holiday where I took a break from the gym and got plenty of rest, I noticed my testosterone nearly doubled—highlighting how much environmental factors like stress and sleep can impact hormone levels. That said, I also have a varicocele (a condition in the veins of my testicles), which has not caused me any pain but is known to potentially lower testosterone levels over time.

Previous Supplement/Anabolic Use:
- Anavar: 20 mg per day for 8 weeks (only cycle done)
- RAD 140 (Testolone): 8-week cycle

Aside from the above, I’ve never done anything more advanced, and I’ve always been hesitant to go down the TRT path until now. After discussing it with my doctor and weighing the pros and cons, I’ve decided to give it a go.

TRT Cycle Details:

- Starting dose: 100 mg of Testosterone Enanthate per week, split into two subcutaneous injections (taken in the morning)
- I plan to adjust my training style as well, moving to a Push/Pull/Legs split, with swimming added to the routine. This is a shift away from my habit of training 5-6 days a week, which I feel may be contributing to burnout.
- Diet: I’m transitioning to a whole foods-based diet with an emphasis on animal products (especially steak), vegetables, and fruits. I want to focus on high-quality, nutrient-dense foods to support overall health and well-being.

Why TRT?

I’m not a competitive bodybuilder—I’m doing this primarily to optimize my body and mental function for myself. My main goals are to feel more energetic, improve cognitive clarity, and get fitter so I can perform better in my job and daily life. I also have irregular working hours and struggle with sleep, so improving both of those factors is a big part of the plan.

Future Plans:

- Regular blood tests to track hormone levels and make adjustments as needed
- Continue focusing on health and longevity through proper diet, exercise, and lifestyle changes
- Improve sleep quality (aiming for 7-8 hours a night)
- Incorporating more low-impact activities like swimming to balance out my weight training

Thanks for reading, and I appreciate any insights or advice you can share!

TRT Log Update

Hey everyone,
Just checking in with an update on my TRT journey. It's been a couple of weeks since I started, and while it’s still early, I’m definitely starting to notice some changes—both physically and mentally.

How I’m Feeling:

  • Energy Levels: The fatigue I’ve been battling for the last year or so is definitely improving. I’m not feeling that mid-afternoon crash anymore, and I’m waking up with more energy. I still have my moments, but the overall trend is positive.
  • Mental Clarity: The brain fog has been lifting, and I’m starting to feel sharper mentally. I’ve even noticed that I’m more focused at work, which is huge given how demanding my job is. I’m still working on my cognitive clarity, but it’s getting better.
  • Motivation: I’m finally starting to feel the motivation that’s been missing for a while. I’m waking up with more drive, especially for my workouts. It feels like I’m getting back into my groove, and I’m pushing harder in the gym than I have in months.

Training Adjustments:

The transition to a Push/Pull/Legs split has been solid. I’m still adapting to the new routine, but the added rest and more balanced approach is helping with recovery. I’m lifting four days a week now, with two full rest days and the swimming added in. It’s been nice to switch things up and not feel like I’m constantly grinding. The swimming is a nice change of pace and a great low-impact cardio option to balance things out.

Diet Changes:

I’ve fully committed to a whole foods-based diet, and I’ve been loving the changes. I’m focusing on clean, nutrient-dense foods: steak, veggies, fruits, and healthy fats. I’ve been eating more protein, especially red meat, which I think is really helping with recovery and energy levels. I’m also eating more fiber and healthy fats to support hormone production.

I’ve also cut out a lot of processed foods and sugar, which I’m already noticing helps with my energy throughout the day.

Sleep Quality:

One of my biggest struggles has been sleep. I’ve always had irregular hours due to my job, but I’ve been making a conscious effort to improve my sleep hygiene. I’ve been aiming for 7-8 hours a night, and I’m seeing some improvement. It’s not perfect yet, but the quality of sleep is definitely better than before, and I think it’s contributing to how I’m feeling overall.

TRT Dose:

I’m still on 100 mg of Testosterone Enanthate per week, split into two injections. So far, I’ve been feeling good with this dose. I’ve been careful about monitoring any side effects, and so far, I haven’t noticed anything significant, aside from the usual minor injection site irritation. I’ll be doing my next blood test soon to check my levels and adjust if needed, but everything feels pretty stable.

What’s Next:

  • Blood Tests: I’ll keep track of my progress with regular blood tests, just to ensure my hormone levels are where they need to be. This will help me adjust my TRT dose if necessary.
  • Diet and Lifestyle: I’m continuing to dial in my diet and focus on making health-conscious lifestyle changes. This is all about longevity and overall well-being, not just aesthetics or performance.
  • Mental Health: I'm going to continue focusing on mental clarity and reducing stress. Meditation, mindfulness, and time management are all going to be key as I move forward.

Thanks again for following along. I’m excited to see how things progress from here and will keep you all updated as I go. Any advice or thoughts are always welcome! Let’s keep pushing for better health and fitness.

I started with 100mg too. The first few weeks were a game-changer. Hope it’s the same for you!
