Hello, everyone!
I’m excited to start a new thread for 2025 and share my journey toward my goal of earning that IFBB Pro card at a national Masters show. This will be my 5th year of competing at the national level, and I'm still as motivated as ever.
This year, I’ll be competing in all three men's divisions: Bodybuilding, Classic Physique, and Men’s Physique. At 54, I’ll be competing in the Over 50 category in each class. Next year, I’ll move up to the Over 55 class, but for now, the goal is to fine-tune my physique for this year’s shows. I’m aiming for a target weight of around 165 pounds for the Welterweight class—dry and peeled. I still believe I have room for both muscle growth and fat loss to help me hit that number while maintaining a more aesthetic and balanced look.
If things go well and I make significant progress, I might find myself competing in Classic Physique, but I’m open to adjustments depending on how the improvements go. If I get the pro card this year, I may consider doing an IFBB Pro Masters show later in , but that’s something I’ll decide as the year progresses.
Since October, I’ve been running a more moderate cycle with:
- Testosterone: 200mg/week
- Deca Durabolin: 150mg/week
- AI (Aromatase Inhibitor) once weekly for estrogen management.
I’ve been fairly consistent with this cycle, but I’m disappointed that my LDL cholesterol didn’t improve as much as I hoped. I plan to try Citrus Bergamot to help with this—if anyone has other suggestions or advice, I’d love to hear it.
Current Blood Work:
- IGF-1: 162 (looking good so far). I’ll be getting a new blood draw from my doctor in early February for a more accurate update.
How I’m Feeling:
Overall, I’m feeling good! My training is still going strong. I’m not pushing myself to extremes; I’m sticking with what feels comfortable and productive. I’m testing some heavier sets with fewer reps to gauge my strength, but safety is my priority—no injuries. My joints are holding up well, and the combination of Deca and collagen peptides has been really beneficial for recovery and joint health.
Cycle Plan Moving Forward:
My plan is to go into a clean bulk/building phase from February to April. During this time, I’ll focus on maximizing muscle gains while keeping fat gain to a minimum. After that, I’ll transition into a contest prep cut from May to August. I’ll dive deeper into the specifics of my clean bulk cycle as I get closer to starting.
I’ll post updates regularly, including my progress and more detailed cycle information as I get started.
