Hey everyone,
The main reason I’m starting this TRT cycle is because over the past 12 months, I’ve been feeling increasingly fatigued, brain foggy, and lacking in motivation—issues that I’ve never had before. After doing some research and considering my health history, I’ve decided to give TRT a try to help optimize my physical and mental well-being.
Background & Current Situation:
- Height: 6 ft (183 cm)
- Weight: 91 kg (200 lbs)
- Training: Weightlifting 5 days a week
- Job: High-stress, time-critical, and physically demanding work (which I now believe is a big contributing factor to my low energy levels)
I’ve been lifting consistently for the past 7 years, and while my physique has definitely changed from a skinny 70 kg (154 lbs) to 91 kg with a fairly lean build, I’ve also noticed a decline in motivation and mental sharpness over time.
I’ve had my bloodwork checked regularly, and I've always had low testosterone. However, after a two-week holiday where I took a break from the gym and got plenty of rest, I noticed my testosterone nearly doubled—highlighting how much environmental factors like stress and sleep can impact hormone levels. That said, I also have a varicocele (a condition in the veins of my testicles), which has not caused me any pain but is known to potentially lower testosterone levels over time.
Previous Supplement/Anabolic Use:
- Anavar: 20 mg per day for 8 weeks (only cycle done)
- RAD 140 (Testolone): 8-week cycle
Aside from the above, I’ve never done anything more advanced, and I’ve always been hesitant to go down the TRT path until now. After discussing it with my doctor and weighing the pros and cons, I’ve decided to give it a go.
TRT Cycle Details:
- Starting dose: 100 mg of Testosterone Enanthate per week, split into two subcutaneous injections (taken in the morning)
- I plan to adjust my training style as well, moving to a Push/Pull/Legs split, with swimming added to the routine. This is a shift away from my habit of training 5-6 days a week, which I feel may be contributing to burnout.
- Diet: I’m transitioning to a whole foods-based diet with an emphasis on animal products (especially steak), vegetables, and fruits. I want to focus on high-quality, nutrient-dense foods to support overall health and well-being.
Why TRT?
I’m not a competitive bodybuilder—I’m doing this primarily to optimize my body and mental function for myself. My main goals are to feel more energetic, improve cognitive clarity, and get fitter so I can perform better in my job and daily life. I also have irregular working hours and struggle with sleep, so improving both of those factors is a big part of the plan.
Future Plans:
- Regular blood tests to track hormone levels and make adjustments as needed
- Continue focusing on health and longevity through proper diet, exercise, and lifestyle changes
- Improve sleep quality (aiming for 7-8 hours a night)
- Incorporating more low-impact activities like swimming to balance out my weight training
Thanks for reading, and I appreciate any insights or advice you can share!
