Pramipexole: A Better Option Than Cabergoline for Prolactin Control in Bodybuilding

As many of you already know, anabolic steroids like Deca (nandrolone) and Tren (trenbolone) belong to the 19-nor testosterone family and can raise prolactin levels when used alongside testosterone. Progestins, such as Deca and Tren, can trigger issues like "Deca Dick" (erectile dysfunction) and puffy or sensitive nipples due to elevated prolactin levels. This is why, in addition to an aromatase inhibitor (AI) like Arimidex or Aromasin to control estrogen, it's essential to manage prolactin levels with the right ancillary drugs.

The most common options for controlling prolactin are Cabergoline, Bromocriptine, and Pramipexole, among others. Traditionally, Cabergoline has been favored due to its convenient dosing schedule (typically 1-2 times per week) and relatively easy availability. However, Cabergoline has some drawbacks: it can be expensive, hard to find, unstable in liquid form, and requires pre-ordering months in advance. Each pill can cost anywhere from $5 to $20, which can quickly add up—especially if you're on a long 18-week Deca cycle.

So, what's the best alternative? Pramipexole .

Pramipexole is another dopamine agonist, like Cabergoline, that lowers prolactin levels by boosting dopamine. In fact, Pramipexole has been shown to be more effective at reducing prolactin than Cabergoline. The best part? It's much more affordable, and one bottle can last you an entire cycle, costing about the same as a bottle of testosterone.

But that’s not all—Pramipexole offers several other benefits that Cabergoline doesn’t. For example, Pramipexole has been shown to increase growth hormone (GH) levels by up to 300% in healthy men, lasting for around two hours after dosing. It’s also safe for long-term use, unlike Cabergoline, which has been linked to potential fibrotic side effects (cardiac and non-cardiac). Additionally, Pramipexole has anti-aromatase properties, which can help further reduce estrogenic activity during a cycle.

Pramipexole Dosing Guidelines:
When using Pramipexole, the most important thing is to increase your dose gradually . Start low to minimize the risk of side effects such as headaches, stomach discomfort, or lethargy. If dosed properly, side effects can be minimal or even nonexistent.

- Starting Dose : 0.125 mg (or half of the typical 0.25 mg). Start with this low dose for a few days.
- Increase Gradually : If no significant side effects occur, increase to 0.25 mg, then stay on that dose for several days.
- Effective Dose : 0.25 mg per day is typically sufficient for prolactin suppression, though some individuals may increase to 0.5 mg if necessary. At these doses, side effects are usually minimal.

Pramipexole is typically taken before bed because it can cause drowsiness. Dosing at night allows you to sleep through most of the potential side effects. If you’re using higher doses, such as around 1 mg, be aware that some users report waking up with numb hands, which is a result of the growth hormone increase that Pramipexole stimulates.

Why Choose Pramipexole?
- Affordable and Long-Lasting : A single bottle lasts the duration of a long cycle.
- More Effective at Lowering Prolactin : Pramipexole suppresses prolactin better than Cabergoline in many cases.
- Growth Hormone Benefits : It can increase GH levels significantly, which could lead to better muscle growth and fat loss.
- Long-Term Safety : Unlike Cabergoline, Pramipexole has fewer risks of serious fibrotic reactions and is safe for longer cycles.

If you’re looking to control prolactin and maximize your bodybuilding potential, Pramipexole offers a highly effective, affordable, and well-tolerated alternative to Cabergoline.

I’ve been on Deca for about 10 weeks now and just added Pramipexole to control prolactin. I’m on 0.25 mg a day, and so far, no issues with erectile dysfunction or nipple sensitivity. I’ve also noticed a bit more energy in the gym, and I’m seeing better muscle definition, so I think the GH boost is real. Has anyone else noticed better strength gains with Pramipexole?
