It seems like many newcomers to the forum, regardless of their experience level or age, often jump straight into advanced cycles, only to be disappointed when they’re told they’re not ready for them. One of the most overused compounds is tren, in my opinion. Many people take it too early, thinking it’s the magic solution, but in reality, it’s more of a “don’t push the red button” situation. The AAS community, including all the hype around certain compounds, may share some of the blame, but it’s important to remember that there are simple cycles that can still provide excellent results.
One of the most underrated compounds is testosterone. A lot of people come in with their diet dialed in and their training on point, and they run a simple test-only cycle. The results speak for themselves, and they’re often amazed by the gains they make. But then, as they continue cycling, they start adding more and more compounds, assuming that more is always better. For many of us who don’t compete or have specific goals for extreme muscle growth, there’s no need to overcomplicate things or push our bodies to unnecessary limits with harsh compounds.
If testosterone worked well in the first cycle, why change it? I’ve seen great results from sticking with simple test-only cycles. Sometimes I’ll add a little proviron for that extra boost, and that’s all I need. The key is consistency—both with diet and training. Advanced compounds might be tempting, but starting them too early can lead to diminishing returns and can even negatively affect future cycles.
Example of a simple yet effective cycle :
- Test E : 250mg twice a week (Monday & Thursday)
- Proviron : 25mg twice a day
- AI : As needed to manage estrogen
This cycle, when paired with a solid diet and consistent training, can lead to steady, sustainable progress.
