Diet and Training Journal of an Aging Firefighter: Log

Hey crew — quick end-of-summer check-in.
It’s been a solid month since the last update, and while it hasn’t all been perfect, there’s real progress across the board. The biggest win? Consistency. Training, diet, recovery — all way more dialed in than even 4 weeks ago.

Training:
Still on the same 4x/week split (P/P/L + hybrid), but I’ve started adding short explosive finishers — sled pushes, med ball slams, and box jumps — to build that firehouse-ready power. Tennis has been solid too, mostly doubles lately, but I’m noticing better court movement and endurance.

Weight & Physique:
Down to 216.4 lbs this morning — the leanest I’ve been in a while without feeling flat. Waist is tighter, arms and shoulders are holding size. Still aiming for that 210 mark, but doing it slow and clean.

Diet:
Macros are averaging ~2400 cals/day, with protein consistently over 200g. Switched from eyeballing to pre-logging meals, and it’s made a huge difference with energy during long shifts. Still no soda — 35 days Coke-free. Feels weirdly like a milestone.

Supplements / PEDs:
Holding off on the oral stack for now. I’ve decided to start low-dose Test E (125mg/week) in September as a base. Going to give it 4 weeks solo before introducing anything else. Support stack is ready — AI on-hand, bloods scheduled, BP readings logged 2x/week (all in the normal range so far). Appreciate the feedback on the last post — you guys talked me out of rushing it.

Looking Ahead:

  • Start Test E 9/1
  • Bloodwork at week 3
  • Possibly introduce Anavar weeks 5–10 if all goes smooth
  • Keep tennis 2–3x/week
  • Hit 210 lbs without losing power or mood
  • Weekly logs — hold me to it
Still learning a lot through all this. Appreciate all the advice and DMs — this community’s been a game-changer.

Let’s finish the year strong. 🔥
