My First Test + Anavar Cycle Log

Hello everyone,

This will be my first log, tracking my Testosterone Enanthate (Test E) + Anavar cycle. I’ve decided to update the cycle plan, as I had to discontinue the oral Tbol after just two weeks and found the Anavar to be bunk. So, I’ve switched to a Test E-only cycle.

Cycle Overview:

- Wk 1-12: Test E 400mg/week
- Wk 1-12: Aromasin 12.5mg (as needed)
- PCT (Post Cycle Therapy):
- Week 14: HCG 2000 IU x 1
- Week 14.5: HCG 1000 IU x 3 EOD
- Week 14-16: Nolvadex 40mg ED
- Week 14-16: Aromasin 12.5mg EOD
- Week 17-18: Nolvadex 20mg ED
- Wk 13-21: Cardarine 20mg ED
- Wk 1-16: Milk Thistle + Taurine 1g ED

About Me:

- Age: 32
- Training Experience: 14 years (with some interruptions due to injury and illness)
- Current Training Status: Back to consistent training for about a year now
- Sport Background: Been playing Football for 15 years, though I neglected leg weights for a period due to the high cardio load from the sport. Now in the off-season, I’m focusing on improving my strength and body composition.
- Injury Background: Recently started deadlifting about 9 months ago to rehab back pain, which has been extremely helpful. I’ve been working with a strength and conditioning coach to improve form.

PEDs History:

- MK677: Used previously for a period
- Anavar: Took 40mg daily for 5 weeks (second bottle was bunk, so I discontinued it). Experienced some decent lean gains (1-2kg) with no noticeable suppression.

Current Stats:

- Height: 184 cm
- Weight: 88 kg
- Body Fat: 17%
- Training Focus: 5-6 weight training sessions per week, plus 1-2 cardio sessions with moderate intensity

Cycle Goals:

- Body Fat Goal: Drop down to around 12%
- Weight Goal: 88-90 kg
- Strength Goals (1RM):
- Bench Press: 120kg → 145kg
- Deadlift: 170kg → 220kg
- Squat: 100kg → 160kg (Expecting noticeable gains in this lift)
- Recomposition: Gain 4-5 kg of lean muscle mass

I’m aiming to achieve my body composition and strength goals before I begin planning for a family in the next 1-2 years, which is why I have a small window for this cycle.

Diet & Calories:

- Caloric Maintenance (before cycle): 1950 kcal (in a coma, due to a slow metabolism)
- Total Maintenance Calories (with activity): 2800 kcal
- Target Calories During Cycle: Around 2800-3000 kcal
- Diet Goal: Drop to 12% body fat within the next 4 weeks, with a clean diet to support training and fat loss

Training Plan:

- 5-6 weight training sessions per week, with a focus on compound lifts and accessory work
- 1-2 moderate-intensity cardio sessions each week (depending on recovery and energy levels)

Additional Info:
- I’ve enlisted the help of a leading Strength and Conditioning coach to perfect my form, especially on lifts like the deadlift and squat.
- I’m working on improving my weak points and addressing any imbalances.

- Current Body Fat: 17% (will be dieting down to 12% before starting the cycle)

Log Update: April 18, 2025​


Hey everyone,


Here’s a much-needed update on my Test E-only cycle. I’m now just past week 8, and things are definitely moving in the right direction, though it hasn’t been without its ups and downs. Wanted to share where I’m at, both to track my own progress and maybe offer some insight for others going through something similar.

Cycle So Far (Wk 1–8 Recap):​


  • Test E 400mg/week has been consistent—pinning twice weekly (Monday/Thursday) has worked really well to keep blood levels stable.
  • Aromasin: Started taking it more regularly around week 4 when I noticed some bloating and minor sensitivity in the nipples. 12.5mg EOD is my current sweet spot—no sides now.
  • No signs of suppression yet in terms of mood, energy, or libido. In fact, libido has been sky high (wife noticed too, lol).

Training Update:​

I’ve been following a slightly adjusted Push/Pull/Legs split, with 6 sessions per week. Recovery has been amazing—DOMS are minimal, even after heavy leg sessions.

Progress on my big lifts:

  • Bench Press: 120kg → 135kg (1RM) — Just hit this last week. Not quite at my goal yet, but it’s coming fast.
  • Deadlift: 170kg → 200kg (1RM tested last week) — Back pain is completely gone, form is tight.
  • Squat: 100kg → 140kg (3 reps with good depth) — Huge win for me considering I neglected legs for a while.

Strength is climbing weekly, but I’m not pushing to absolute max—still focused on clean form and long-term progression.


Body Composition:​


  • Starting BF: 17%
  • Current BF (as per InBody scan): 13.2%
  • Weight: 91.3 kg — Up from 88 kg, but noticeably leaner. Abs are starting to pop, especially in good lighting.
  • Lean mass gains: Looks like I’ve added around 3.5–4 kg of lean tissue so far.

Honestly, I’m super happy with how recomp is going. The mirror shows way more than the scale. Arms, delts, and traps are fuller; waist is tighter.

Diet:​


Calories are sitting around 3100 kcal/day now—had to bump them up due to hunger and recovery needs. Appetite has increased significantly around week 5.


  • Macros: ~230g protein, 350g carbs, 90–100g fat.
  • Still clean eating 90% of the time, but allowing a couple flexible meals per week to keep sanity intact.
  • Cardio: 2 sessions per week, 20–30 mins low/moderate intensity. Might reduce slightly to preserve strength gains as I get leaner.

Supplements:​


  • Milk Thistle + Taurine still daily—liver health on point.
  • Cardarine (GW-501516) started Week 6: 20mg ED—noticed a nice endurance bump after a week or so.
  • Electrolytes and magnesium added in around week 5 to deal with nighttime cramps (helped a lot).
  • Creatine Monohydrate: 5g/day

Side Effects:​


  • Mild acne started around Week 6—mostly shoulders/back. Managing it with salicylic acid wash + showering immediately after training.
  • No gyno symptoms after adjusting Aromasin.
  • Mood & sleep: Overall solid, though I occasionally wake up super early with a racing mind. Could be from increased CNS stimulation or higher test levels.

What’s Next:​


  • Staying on Test E through Week 12 as planned.
  • PCT plan remains the same (see original post), though I’m thinking about bloodwork at Week 10 to prep early for recovery.
  • If recomp continues at this pace, I may increase calories slightly again to push more into lean mass territory from Week 9–12.

Final Thoughts (for now):​


This has been a huge step up from my previous experience with orals. Injectables feel more stable and predictable, and the results are night and day. I’m learning to listen to my body more, and recovery has never felt this smooth.


Appreciate any feedback on this phase—especially from anyone who's transitioned from recomp into lean bulk on a Test-only cycle. Should I push food up more aggressively now or stay lean and dry through PCT?

Solid plan overall! Just curious, you mentioned you’re aiming to get to 12% body fat before the cycle starts. How are you structuring your diet leading up to that? Are you cutting calories gradually or doing a more aggressive cut for a short period?
