My TRT with Deca Durabolin Log – Starting the Journey to Transformation

Hey everyone,
I’m finally starting a log to document my journey and progress. I’m 57 years old, weighing in at 248lbs, and I’ve been on TRT for about 4 years now (currently 180mg of 200mg Test Cypionate per week, with 0.5mg Anastrozole).
Background:
For the past three years, I struggled with my fitness after I stopped working and fell into a sedentary lifestyle due to COVID – I ended up putting on a lot of weight. But, in December 2024, I made the decision to get back into the gym. Unfortunately, after just three weeks of training, I injured my rotator cuff, which has kept me from doing traditional bench presses. I’m currently working with a physical therapist to recover from this injury.
Despite the setback, I’ve been modifying my workouts and doing what I can. For example, I’ve switched to the seated bench press with an alternate grip (thumbs up) and have worked my way up to 3 plates for 6 reps in my 4th set.

Current Workout Schedule:
- Monday: Chest/Triceps + 20 minutes in the sauna
- Tuesday: Back/Biceps + 20 minutes in the sauna
- Wednesday: Cardio (3 miles at a heart rate of 130) + 20 minutes in the sauna
- Thursday: Shoulders/Traps + 20 minutes in the sauna
- Friday: Leg Presses, Calf Raises, Leg Curls + 20 minutes in the sauna

Cycle:
Three weeks ago, I decided to add 1ml of 200mg Deca Durabolin per week on top of my TRT regimen. I’m keeping my Anastrozole at 0.5mg once a week to manage estrogen.

Diet Struggles:
One of my biggest challenges is my diet, especially since my four grandkids visit every weekend. There’s always cereal and other tempting snacks in the house. I try to stick to healthier foods like steak, grass-fed burgers, chicken, salads, and nuts, but it’s tough with all the temptation around.
Despite these challenges, I’m committed to making a change. I’ve never been in great shape, but I’m ready to try and transform my body and health. I’m excited to see how my body responds to the combination of TRT, Deca, and my modified training routine.

Goals:
- Short-term goal: Build strength and recover from the rotator cuff injury
- Long-term goal: Achieve a noticeable transformation in physique, reduce body fat, and improve overall health
I’m here to learn from others, and I’d really appreciate any advice, feedback, or suggestions from those of you who’ve been on a similar path, especially with TRT and Deca.
