TRT Journey and Upcoming Blast Cycle: My History and Future Plans

Hello everyone, I’d like to share my personal journey with TRT and my upcoming blast cycle, along with a bit of my history in bodybuilding and how I’ve dealt with both challenges and progress along the way.

History (Long-Winded)

I’m 49 years old, and my journey with fitness began over 30 years ago. Throughout the years, I’ve trained consistently—though not always for size, my gym time has always been a constant part of my life. Around 20 years ago, I started experimenting with PEDs, which significantly improved my strength and muscle size over time. I’ve done about 15 cycles and have experience with various compounds like Tren, EQ, Deca, Test, Anavar, Anadrol, M1T, S23, and MK677. I understand how my body responds to these substances. Accident & Health Struggles In 2021, my life took a serious turn when I fell nearly 18 feet from a ladder. I broke my pelvis, 11 vertebrae, had 2 ruptured discs and 2 bulging discs, and suffered a Morelle Lavelle lesion. This resulted in 7 surgeries over the next year as I struggled to regain the ability to walk. During this recovery period, I gained weight and ballooned to nearly 280 lbs. On top of this, my doctor discovered that my testosterone levels were low (around 300 ng/dl), and I had a significant Vitamin D deficiency. Back to the Gym & TRT In late 2022, I finally returned to the gym and started focusing on resistance training, with a focus on whole-body exercises to help shed some of the weight. Even with low T, I have always struggled with hair thinning and sensitivity to hair loss. I’ve found that I can tolerate about 375 mg of testosterone per week without experiencing hair loss or gyno issues. However, I struggle with "Deca dick" when I go over 400 mg of Deca. I don’t have any prostate concerns, but honestly, I’ve dealt with erectile dysfunction (ED) ever since the accident—though age might also be a factor here. After reaching around 210 lbs, I shifted my training to focus more on size while continuing to work on body recomposition. Currently, I’m sitting at around 208 lbs with approximately 22-25% body fat, and I still have loose skin from the weight loss.

I’m looking forward to seeing how my body responds to this new cycle, and I’ll keep updating the log with progress. If anyone has gone through a similar journey or has tips for maintaining muscle while recomping and dealing with past injuries, I’d love to hear about your experiences!

Incredible journey, man. Your dedication to getting back in shape after such a serious accident is inspiring. I’ve dealt with some injuries myself, and I’d love to hear more about how you manage recovery while still making progress. Keep it up!

It’s been just over 14 weeks since I posted the initial log, and I’m now wrapping up the blast cycle. Wanted to give an honest update on where things stand—progress, challenges, and a bit of reflection as I look ahead.

Cycle Recap & Adjustments

I stuck closely to the original plan:

  • Test Cypionate: 375 mg/week
  • Deca: 300 mg/week
  • EQ: 300 mg/week
  • Tren (weeks 8–14): ended up adding 75 mg/week, just enough for a boost without pushing side effects
Aromatase management with Arimidex at 0.25 mg 3x/week kept things in check. I monitored E2 levels at weeks 6 and 12—both were in a good range, though I felt a bit of water retention creeping in toward the end. Nothing drastic.

Results So Far

  • Weight: Down to 202 lbs, holding more lean tissue
  • Body Fat: Estimated at 18-19% — visibly leaner in the midsection and shoulders
  • Strength: Up across all major lifts, despite being in a mild caloric deficit
  • Endurance & Recovery: Much improved, especially with the help of carnitine and consistent cardio 3x/week

One major win is that joint pain stayed minimal, likely thanks to the Deca. Sleep was better during the EQ phase, but slightly disrupted once I introduced Tren, even at low dose.

Hair & Libido Notes

Still applying topical minoxidil/finasteride daily, and no noticeable shedding or acceleration of hair loss this time, which I’m thankful for.
As for libido—definitely took a hit in the last few weeks with Tren in the mix, and ED symptoms returned slightly. Dropping Tren now, and I’ll assess where things normalize post-cycle.

Health Markers & Labs

  • BP: Averaged 120–125/78
  • RBC & Hematocrit: On the higher side, as expected with EQ—just did another blood donation this week
  • Liver enzymes: Slightly elevated at week 12, but NAC seems to be helping
  • Lipids: HDL dropped a bit, but nothing alarming

Looking Ahead

Plan now is to cruise for 8–10 weeks back on 150 mg/week of Test Cypionate, allow time for lipid markers and recovery to stabilize. May add in a small amount of HCG to help restore natural function, though I’ve remained on TRT full-time.

Goals for the Next Phase:

  • Drop to 200 lbs even, targeting 16–17% BF
  • Maintain muscle fullness during the cut
  • Possibly introduce peptides like CJC-1295/Ipamorelin during cruise phase for recovery and improved sleep
Appreciate everyone who’s followed along. If anyone has thoughts on maintaining size during transition phases—or has experience running peptides post-cycle—I’d love to hear your input. Will continue updating as the cruise progresses. Stay strong and smart, gents.

Awesome update, man. Really solid progress especially considering the injury history. Respect for staying disciplined and pushing through. How are your joints holding up now that you’ve dropped the Deca?
